Kindle with front light this summer?

[Image: 41JpsttW8CL._SL230_.jpg]Yes, it's another batch of rumours, this time originating from Reuters and a mystery source directly connected with Amazon.

According to Reuters' source, the new model will feature the usual e-ink display but with a built in front light, something which many owners commented on in the past. With prior Kindle models, the only illumination option was either a case with a built in light (something which many cases fail to do well) or a clip-on light which is clunky and cumbersome.

The move, if it's true, is most likely a response to the now shipping Barnes and Noble Nook Simle Touch with GlowLight which does exactly what it says on the tin. According to the rumour, the new Kindle model will be based on the Kindle Touch which would seem to make sense if it's going to take on the Nook directly.

As the new model would be a fairly minor update to the product line, there is a possibility that we may see them in the UK sooner rather than later.
