I'm a Support For Learning teacher in Scotland by day. Over weekends and in the evenings, I spend my time as a husband and father.
At some point during the night, I turn into an author.
I have been included in the last 2 Mammoth Best British Crime Stories; Speedloader; Needle Magazine Of Noir; Off The Record; The Reader; Grimm Tales; and Brit Grit Too.
I have 3 short story collections - Dirty Old Town, Beat On The Brat and With Love And Squalor.
My novella, Smoke, has been nominated for the Best Novella Award at Spinetingler.
I've won The Watery Grave Invitational contest ni 2010; the Things I'd Rather Be Doing contest in 2011 and Vintage Books Review Competition in 2012.
My story Beat On The Brat was nominated for the Best Story Online category at Spinetingler in 2011.
As an editor, alongside Chris Rhatigan, I published the collection Pulp Ink and Pulp Ink 2.
My teacher noir novel 'In Loco Parentis' is set in London and has had a good start in terms of reviews.
I'm proud to say that I have a story in 'Lost Children 2' and am completely thrilled to be appearing alongside an all-time favourite of mine, George Pelecanos, among many other stars.
Mr Suit, How To Choose A Sweetheart and The Rocks Below are three others and suggest that my muse is almost as confused as I am.
I have written four books in a series entitled Southsiders and the first book has been published by Blasted Heath. The others are in a pipeline somewhere and I'm looking forward to seeing them brought to life in due course.
