Mine's on the way, according to Bundlebox I should get it Thursday or Friday. Must admit I am somewhat excited. Looking forward to this one more than the Touch.

Mine has just been shipped and the delivery date has been brought forward from the 12th to the 6th. Looks like Amazon are getting ahead!

RE: How to order a Kindle Paperwhite from the UK (imported from US)

Hi

I pre-ordered my 2 paperwhites wifi for me and the wife, with special offers(they don't bother me) on the day of release and they were delivered at 9am this morning, I didn't use bundle box but ViAddress who are based in Indiana, It was free to sign up with them and the service was excellent, they received the kindles on tuesday and emailed me to let me know and I paid the $33 they asked for for Fedex priority shipping and they posted out on the 3rd and as I said they were delivered today and no problems at customs.

I'm very impressed so far with the paperwhite and especially the light which was the main reason I wanted it.Kindle Smile

Collected mine from Fedex this morning after missing them yesterday. Loving it so far, just waiting for a cover now.

RE: How to order a Kindle Paperwhite from the UK (imported from US)

My Kindle Paperwhite has just arrived today. From posting by Amazon to delivery by DHL it took a total of 7 days. The cost seems to have been a bit more than others, though. Breakdown is as follows: £79 for Kindle with ads ($119), £35 for delivery and handling via Bingo US ($57) and £22 GBP for duty and VAT ($35). So, a grand total of £136. But given that a Kindle Touch currently sells for £109, I doubt that £130 or so is too far off what a Paperwhite will cost if and when they arrive in the UK. Bingo US were pretty efficient although they charge a one-off $5 registration fee and I think the larger fee for delivery was because the Paperwhite just crossed into a higher weight category.

First impressions are good. The combination of the touch screen and the light is fantastic after using the basic Kindle or the old Kindle Keyboard for the last couple of years. The display LEDs are more visible than I thought they would be from reading other reviews but I'm sure I'll get used to that. One-handed page turns are fine if you swipe the screen. The fact that it was the $20 cheaper version with ads seems to make no difference and registration with 'my kindle' was automatic.
