Your bundlebox address (the Kentucky one) has a kind of PO Box number at the end of it, so when it comes in they know it's for your account. They'll just send an email when it arrives, or you can check on the Bundlebox website if you know when it's expected.

When should I expect to get my delivery, if I act on BundleBox's email straight away? I've gone for Super Saver delivery, but if Amazon.com is anything like .co.uk, it'll probably arrive on launch day anyway.

But what about the shipping from BundleBox to me? I'm seriously having Kindle withdrawal and seeing my new baby shining away on the Manage Your Kindle page is not helping. Big Grin

You can choose 2-3 or 4-5 days when it gets to BB. There's not an awful lot of difference in the price, just a few dollars. It's FedEx so you can track everything.

RE: How to order a Kindle Paperwhite from the UK (imported from US)

This will be my first Kindle, as well as my first purchase made using this method, so I want to get a couple of things clear before I order. With the device i'm buying will I be able to used my amazon.co.uk account to purchase books in GBP, or is it region locked to the US store? Also, I take it the device only comes with a US wall charger? Does it also come with a USB charger?

Thanks.

Very useful information - thank you! Not sure if I'll be doing this, or waiting until I can order one from amazon UK, but it's good to know about Bundlebox.

Thanks - that's such a comprehensive guide.

Would anyone happen to know whether this new Kindle displays books as a 'bookshelf' with cover-flow type images of the front covers (instead of just a written list of books)? This is the one feature I've been waiting for as each new generation of Kindle is released!

Also, I take it UK users will be back to square one with this device, in that we won't be able to directly access the UK store from the Paperwhite?

To answer all your questions about UK compatibility....

The device will not be region locked - you can register it to any valid Amazon account whether UK, US or elsewhere.

Most likely the 'Shop in Kindle Store' link in the menu will take you to the US store (as it did when we imported Kindle Touches) - this will fix itself when the Paperwhite is released officially in the UK

You will still however be able to buy books direct from the Kindle by going to Amazon.co.uk in the built-in web browser and buying direct from the Amazon.co.uk website.

[Edited this to correct it]

It looks like it may have from some of the screen shots I've seen.

Thanks Lou for the help. I am looking forward to this one. It is a huge step up from the Touch. I think when I get the email from BB I'll go for the fastest delivery.

I'm am almost 100% certain it will only come with a USB cable and if you want a wall charger you have to purchase it separately, they started doing that with last lot of Kindle's (the Touch and the basic Kindle), a power adapter hasn't been included with a Kindle since the Kindle Keyboard.

You don't need to buy the Kindle "UK power adapter", a standard micro usb charger should work ok.
