OK, I know it is a free newspaper - I pick it up on the train occasionally - but I have just noticed that Metro is available on Kindle (week days only) for £1.99 a month. It is a great little paper for concise news - and the Kindle version is blissfully advert free. I haven't started sampling it yet (14 day free trial, like all papers) as I am currently having the brilliant New York Times on free trial - but at £17.98 I might think twice before subscribing. Having said that, the journalism in NYT is excellent and it is nice to get a non-UK perspective on international news.

RE: Daily Newspaper delivered to Kindle - £1.99 a month![]() Have just downloaded Metro to Kindle from Amazon - I wasn't sure if I could have two free trials running at once, but it seems there is no limit - and I like the way it is set out. Pretty nifty for headlines, but no in depth commentary. |

RE: Daily Newspaper delivered to Kindle - £1.99 a monthI also use Calibre for my book / news transfers, there is an option to 'get news' and using this I receive a free BBC compilation, a free Guardian / Telegraph compilation and the Metro each scheduled for download daily (Calibre allows your choice of specific days and there are 300+ english publications available). Has worked a treat for over a year now. The only 'downside' is connecting to your pc for the transfer each morning, but you can do this whilst you're having your 'cuppa'. |

As joo says, Kindleman has stopped taking on new subscribers for the time being, but content is still accessible for download directly. See http://www.kindleman.com/blog/2011/11/no-new-accounts/. bazooka found https://webtoread.com/ which is very similar to Kindleman, its free and unlike Calibre the content goes straight to your kindle via wifi, so no need for the daily pc connection. UK news choices are halfway down the page. There's also a premium service for unlimited subscriptions. I've signed up to try it out, so far so good with daily deliveries at around 08.00'ish. |

I have been impressed with their support: I contacted them because one of the newspaper I tried was empty and they fixed it overnight.
