Two Questions from a newbie

Hi, I'm an oldie newbie. What's an Amazon tag? And what are Smashwords? Sorry to be such a thicko! Why does it say JUNIOR and two stars at top of my profile? Am I in the wrong place?

RE: Two Questions from a newbie

The amazon tag is used to link books or whatever to amazon. Smashwords is an e-book site, a competitor to Amazon. The Junior is your forum rank, it'll change as you post more.

No idea on the stars, I guess it's a reputation?

Hi Valerie!

Nothing to apologise for. We've all got to start somewhere! An Amazon tag is something you can add to your book's product page which makes it more visible when people search for books. You need to put in words that people may search by - key words - such as "murder" if it's a murder mystery book etc. Think what you would put in if you wanted to search for it. The place where you enter them is halfway down the product page.

Smashwords is a publishing facility similar to Amazon - http://www.smashwords.com

Hope that helps!

Stu

Oh dear, pressing the wrong buttons again. Thank you for answering my questions, shall continue to explore. Is there a way to correct the time? I seem to be about 40 minutes out. Not important, I just wondered. Thank you again. Valerie.

Hello Valerie and welcome to the Forum. Normally, you would post your hello on the Hello part of the forum, but never mind. As TechnoHippy said, your Junior status is because you have only posted 1-2 posts, once you post a little more, it will change. Or, if you feel like it, you can change your status on your User CP.
