What I Read

On changing pages

I dont know if this was any different before my Kindle upgraded itself so maybe someone can shine a light on this.
When I turn to the next page most of the time its a smooth flow to the next page, but maybe one in four or five page turns, the fonts or page turns black for a split second Huh
This is not a problem just an annoying little thing I can live without but also live with is I have toConfused

Any ideas or is it just me? I even thought it could be the way I pressed the side button but after a couple of chapters its not that

Any help will be gratefully received

Thanks

I believe you are referring to 'Page Refresh' found in the settings menu.
You can toggle it to refresh at every page turn or as you describe.

Explanation here:

http://www.tomshardware.com...

Basically, it gives the illusion of faster page turns MOST of the time (at the expense of a more 'clunky' page-turn every 6 pages) and (presumably) it also helps to save power, thus prolonging the time between charges.

RE: On changing pages

Well I have had my Kindle only a few days and it has done that since I got it. Not all the time, just now and again, so I am used to it. It's my first Kindle and I just figured that was something that they did. But no, you're not alone. My brand new Kindle does the same.

RE: On changing pages

Presumably I am right on this, but no doubt it is a fair assumption that everyone on this particular thread has only had there kindle since launch day which was 12th Sept and consequently that is why we're all feeling our way round.

I have read two separate posts where users have an anomaly, I won't say fault, as it probably isn't, but, given that the item may not be performing as you expect, is this something you should be notifying Amazon about in the early days, rather than wait. I appreciate the guarantee will cover you/us for ***** (can't remember), but if for example, my wife commented that something was slightly amiss, rather than allow it to drag on, I might be tempted to consider a replacement. Is this fair do you think?
