RE: Authors posting reviews relating to their own books

Not sure about what the question of the thread was, but I posted a review under my own name that I recieved in America. I have also done the same for British reviews, by posting them under my own name in America. The problem is that reviews are not universal between .com and .co uk. You can however only do this once, so it is likely to be in the early days when you have few or no comments. There are other instances where an auther is allowed to reply to a review, say in cases where they have typos and they have been rectified. I would say in all other circumstances it is a no no to post your own comment.

I am only posting this so that readers are aware of the circumstances and not to promote my book.Angel

This review section is for people to post reviews of books they have read that they want to bring to others attention for either good or bad reasons.

Thanks

Reminds me of the theatre Review which simply read 'Magnificent' and omitted the "A 'magnificent' disaster in the tradition of the Titanic, should sink without a trace".
Readers reviews only please.

RE: Authors posting reviews relating to their own books

I am new; and don't have book promotion page. I believe I still should not have independent review on "Soul and Reincarnation" posted here.

I like to follow forum rules to keep things in order. But hope moderators will help with innocent mistakes. Wish you all the very best.

Yes, large image can be intimidating. But is there anyway to add small images in signature file. I am new too. So good to see another newbie.

Most of the authors will be honest to post their reviews, IMO. These got to be done by independent reviewers. I will not doubt their honesty. Any body can search for false posting.

Posting a false review will be shooting in your own foot.

Review is just to attract customers. It will be content that really counts.

RE: Authors posting reviews relating to their own books

If you have a look under the e-book review section, you will see there are now 2 boards - one for members to post reviews of e-books they have personally read and another for more generalised reviews. The board has been split in two, as the original board had begun to be used for promotion of review sites/blogs, which it was not intended for.

Needless to say, self promotion should be restricted to the Authors & Publishers boards.

I'll post on the PR & Promotion too but would genuinely like to find someone to review her books. You have to start somewhere - anyone read any Bella Andre?
Thanks
Amanda

Hi Amanda, "Love on the Bookshelf" is a new review site hosted by four young ladies dedicated to reviewing romance. Give them a tug. Mention my nameSmile
