50MB Download limit?

Someone mentioned that Amazon has introduced a 50MB monthly download limit to the 3G KK.

I found this blog post - http://devinenimanoj.blogspot.co.uk...

I couldn't find anything on amazon UK, but I found this quote on US

Quote: Experimental Web Browser
The Experimental Web Browser is currently only available for some customers outside of the United States and may be limited to 50MB of browsing over 3G per month. This limit does not apply when customers are browsing over Wi-Fi.

Anyone know anything about this?

How much (KUF) browsing can you do with 50MB?

Oddly enough I got an email from someone in South Africa mentioning a 50mb limit last night.

RE: 50MB Download limit?

yes i have experienced this, i am currently in spain and by the 18th july had reached my 50mb limit so cannot use 3g till august.have given feed back to amazon as these limits were not pre-announced, else i would have rationed my usage to last the month(meagre though it is). I would like to know the rationele behind this decision, as i paid the extra for the 3g version precisely for this option as i travel to europe a lot. NOT happy with Amazon.

RE: 50MB Download limit?

I think it's understandable that Amazon have introduced some limits to this to stop people who abuse the system, and the web browsing feature was always listed as experimental after all (and that is exactly how Amazon will get round any complaints about it). However, it doesn't seem right that they have put such a small 50mb limit on it though, that's so small it's unfair.

Yes, 50mb does seem particularly sparse for the month. Does anyone know if downloading books take up part of the allowance or is the 50mb just for web browsing?

I think it's unlimited with Amazon books.
It's certainly unfair to sneak it in without announcing it.

RE: 50MB Download limit?

the 50mb won't affect wireless browsing - only those who used the kindle 3(keyboard) 3g, to do a lot of very slow web browsing in Vodafone countries where whispernet operates.
