Book Review: The Missing
This book came up on my Amazon recommendations and at £1.99, I decided to have a look, as it had a lot of 5 star reviews.
John pulls into a service station, leaving his new girlfriend in the car while he quickly visits the toilets and gets them a take away coffee. When he gets back, she gone. When the Police start to investigate, there is no trace of a person by that name. John's frantic search for the girl he had fallen in love with is fast paced and incredibly addictive.
Calling a book a "page turner" is a little cliche'ed, but it's the word that immediately springs to mind. There is a great sense of paranoia, did the girl exist or did he make it up, did he or didn't he have anything to do with her disappearance if she did indeed exist, right up to the end. Well written, well formatted. A great way to pass a few spare hours.
