To get back to the ACTUAL topic... yes, hedgehogs are awesome. As are bats. And red kites... except when they have breakfast on your lawn at 5am! (Breakfast tends to complain! LOUDLY!)

I think the cover is supposed to suggest a voting slip. I have to admit it does not look very interesting and has not made me want to read the book. I loved the Harry Potters and rather selfishly don't want to see how J K Rowling writes for Adults. I may well change my mind once it is out and I have read the reviews. But I certainly won't buy it for the cover alone.

Or is it just a PR ploy to get everyone talking about it when it isn't due until September so there is nothing else to say about it?

Good point. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another cover nearer the day.

Do you know I'm so completely naive that it never occured to me they might be deliberately courting negative publicity to come out with a kick a@@ cover closer to release date - I feel so stupid. Blush

Agreed.. Think they are hoping her name alone will sell... pfft

The sad part Gasglow is that it probably will. Everyone is itching to see what she comes up with next, either to slam her or to praise her to the hilt

It must be my sordid mind then, because when I looked at the cover, I saw flesh colouring, and both the X and the typography of the title suggested erotica to me.

Oh I do agree with you. Everyone will see her name and just assume it's gonna be "magical" and buy it... even if the cover looks like shit and it took her 3 weeks to slap together.. people will still rave about it..

We might find that traditional publishers are under such pressure that they have sacked their art department and are asking their kids to do the work on a pro rata basis.
