Tweaking the price

Hi everyone.

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere already and I've just overlooked it, but has anyone else had Amazon raise the price of their book?

When I first published Looking for Buttons I set the UK price to £1.99. When it went live it appeared as £2.05. I thought that extra 6p would put people off so I tried again with £1.99. I've had an e-mail from KDP congratulating me (again) on publication. The book is still £2.05.

So am I going wrong somewhere or is it just that someone at KDP thinks I'm undervaluing my hard work? Wink

Thanks.

RE: Tweaking the price

The extra 6p is the VAT which Amazon automatically adds onto the book price at a rate of 3% (Luxembourg VAT rate). If you want the cost of your book to the customer to be £1.99 then you must enter a price of £1.93, so that when Amazon adds the VAT it comes to £1.99.

Thanks James. I'll go and sort that out now.
