Kindle for PC

Hi.

I've yet to get a Kindle (sorry). If I buy an ebook from Amazon to read on my PC, will I be able to transfer it to a Kindle at a later date?

Sorry if I'm asking this on the wrong part of the forum, I'm a hapless newbie.

Thanks.

Lucie

Yes - it is locked to the ACCOUNT not the device, providing you don't have more than 3(???) devices.

Fantastic, that's a relief. Thanks very much.

Now the problem will just be resisting the siren call of all those books...

What I Read

RE: Kindle for PC

There doesn't appear to be a three device limit anymore. I continuously transfer my reading between six devices and haven't hit any restrictions. Just to check I've pulled up the novel I'm currently reading on four of the devices simultaneously and it worked without problem.

I suspect any limit would be set by the publisher on individual books, I doubt if there is an amazon-set limitation.

Cheers,

Jonathan

RE: Kindle for PC

Actually Amazon says I have eight devices - I forgot about the kids' PCs - all on the same account. The only time I have been told I couldn't download a particular document was when it was incompatible with a particular device; and that is pretty rare these days.
