Hello Hi Susanne. Yes I managed it eventually. For a while I didn't realise that I hadn't enabled my profile, until Lou pointed it out. Blush

I was wondering why it wouldn't let me change my avator! What an idiot! This forum looks amazing I had no idea about it until I started looking for somewhere that would be interested in my article!

Brilliant post Emma - I've actually received much the same kind of feedback from people in Oz but I truly think all real book lovers will eventually end up with one in their hands. With all the benefits, cheap books, never being stuck for something to read, downloading at midnight etc etc I just couldn't live without mine.

Also my belated welcome to the forum also, as everyone has said we're all mad about books here or maybe we should start saying we love good stories ??

I agree entirely. I was skeptical about buying a Kindle, but my husband persuaded me. He loves books and would never buy one, but he thought I would enjoy it.

Living in Portugal I've bought many books online from the UK and got stuck on one or two authors that I felt I could rely on. The Kindle has opened up to me loads more authors - just the fact of being able to download a free sample before buying has been marvelous, and the number of free books has made it possible to try out different kinds of books as well as different authors.

Welcome to the Forum, Marilyn. I wouldn't be surprised if your husband starts taking an interest in your Kindle! Wink You're right, having a Kindle opens up a whole new world of books you wouldn't necessarily have bought, or been able to buy, in paper.

RE: Author Emma C Williams shares her immaculate conversion to the Kindle experience.

There's a difference between loving reading and loving books.
For those of us who love reading, a Kindle, Kobo or Nook is invaluable and I would hate being separated from mine.
But I also love books and there is no way I would part with my collection. I enjoy being surrounded by the well-thumbed, much read, shelves of old friends.
