Do some lottery numbers based on 2s and 1s.

That sounds like a good success. I look forward to seeing you in the movers and shakers chart. You were at about #120,000 this morning, now at #697.

Am I? Golly, thanks, Joo. Ranking has been all over the place today, presumably while Amazon adjusts to me coming off free. I don't do the lottery -maybe, I should - but 2s and 1s seem a little restrictive.

So have we answered the question of this thread yet...? Tongue

Yes, David we have. And the answer is ...

YES! I've been absolutely amazed at the outcome and the results have exceeded my wildest expectations. Thanks to everyone for encouraging me to do so and the support and cheerleading when I did.

So, two more questions for you all Big Grin

1. Has anyone put a children's book in Select?
2. Have you gone free with a sequel whilst leaving the first book at it's original price? Do you consider this a good idea?

(Yes, yes, I know. Technically, that's three questions, but I'm a writer, dammit, not a mathematician. Wink)

RE: Should I bother going free with Select?

I hadn't intended to put DIFM into Select and intended to just use DSW as the one to go free... and your results have made me think that people are waking up to the free lark and waiting to grab things when they're free. I'd like that 50,000 people to buy my next one, not wait until I put it free, but hey, that's just me wanting to pay the bills. I have to admit, though, that i haven't had 10,000 sales of DIFM, in fact, I've had a steady one or two sales a day instead. So maybe I'm wrong and I'd be better off gambling with Select for my sequel. I don't know. It might be that it'ss better to go for broke early and not hope for good, steady sales.

Everything changes so quickly just now itg's hard to know what to do.

At the moment I just want to get on with some writing. I have so much I want to write. I'm fed up with having to worry about the marketing.

RE: Should I bother going free with Select?

Lynda, I've put The Dragon Box out free a few times with mixed results, but it did get to No.76 on the Free Amazon US list a couple of months ago. I was pretty happy with that for a kids' book.
