RE: Current performance and condition of your K3. How is it faring?

I emailed Amazon for advice and they told me that they could only deal with my problem by phone(!?) and as I'm somewhat phone-phobic I've decided that I shall live with the crack (lord knows I have enough of my own!). If it starts causing any performance issues at least I have the Square Trade warranty to fall back on for the next couple of years.
I got that same response. Instead, I used their "Online chat" customer service, and within 2 minutes they'd ordered a nice shiny new Kindle to head my way. And I hadn't even bought the Kindle directly from Amazon in the first place!
