What I Read

Disable Kindle Dictionary.

Hi all.

I'm sure this has probably been dealt with before, but I was wondering if there's an easy way to disable the onboard dictionary on the Kindle.

Reason being is that I do a lot of highlighting, but each time I do, I'm faced with the "full definition," option and afterwards still find that the dictionary definition of the last word highlighted is on the screen, so I have to press "back," in order to remove it.

I've deleted the American dictionary on the Kindle, but am concerned about the Oxford English version, for two reasons:

1. I'd probably like to use it, now and again.

2. I've read that, if it's deleted, we have to pay in order to download it again?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Big Grin
