Can I ask other authors?

I find it hard to read and write in the same genre - does anyone else have that problem?Confused

What I Read

RE: Can I ask other authors?

Yes! The genre I write in - paranormal romance - is probably my favourite, but when I'm writing, I prefer to read anything but. I think it's because I can't switch off completely from the story in my head and keep making comparisons.

If I read a completely different genre, it's fine, I can just escape into the story.

Glad I'm not alone Smile

Me too Amanda!Wink I know so many other crime authors who love reading other crime writers all of the time! I'm like you and like to switch off completely and read something totally different. Smile

When I'm deep in revisions, I can't even read fiction! I love travelogues and that's what I turn to for comfort. Smile
