What I Read

RE: Hello

I thought it would be good to share with you a wonderful recommendation that The Dead Trilogy received recently from Ignite at Amazon.

"I'm recommending these to anyome who loves a good crime novel. They are a bit out of the ordinary because the main character is a Scene of Crime Officer, Roger Conniston. As this is the author's own profession it makes the books read very authoritatively. You know he knows what it's really like.

There are several threads running through the books; Roger's home life, the jobs he's working on, the underworld gangs he comes up against and not least, criminal elements and all-round bad lots in the police force.

I read the first book and was really impressed with Andy's writing style. He uses some marvellous descriptive writing and his dialogue is really believable. It's down to earth, gritty, just as you imagine it would be. There's a dark humour that I love in these books and there's also a real wisdom and understanding of human nature.

You know I get a bit carried away when I enjoy something but it's a long time since I was so excited by 'discovering' an author. I hearily recommend these to you. (Unless you're very squeamish!)"

What I Read

RE: Hello

I have to thank Linda for letting us know she'd recently had an interview; it reminded me that I'd also had one with Richard Stevenson, author of Collapse.

It's the first interview I've done. Maybe it will be my last too.

RE: Hello

That was interesting, too, Andy, and do let Joo interrogate you. It'll be interesting to see your answers to the questions many of us have answered.

RE: Hello

Interrogation sounds such a scary word.

But I would be honoured to give it a whirl, Joo (gulp).

What I Read

RE: Hello

I feel quite chuffed at the moment. Steve, the IT chap who looks after my website, has added some new bits and pieces.

There are sliding tabs for each book in The Dead Trilogy now, and they give the thoughts behind them, some minor info on names and events. Also, there's a new blog entry, and stunningly, I now have my own merchandise.

I have a few of the mugs and let me tell you, they are great. But then I would say that, wouldn't I?

Here's the site address http://andrew-barrett.co.uk/

It won't be long before he lets me loose on the blog bit so I can upload even more ramblings of a deranged mind all by myself (like a grown up) without (insert swear word here) -ing up the rest of the site. Charming Smile
