Kindle App for Personal Website??

I do not believe this has been raised before, and I can find nothing remotely like what I want on the web. As usual, I want the impossible.
However, I am sure this subject must interest authors with their own website.

Question: Is there a kindle reader app available for inclusion in a personal website so authors can allow visitors to view and read say the first chapter or two of their books?

Ok, I know the answer is to direct them to Amazon to look there, but most people prefer to simply press a button, do what they want to do, and return to the webpage where they started.

The other problem of course would be how to include such a thing in one's website, but that question is moot if nothing exists.

Any ideas anyone?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Do you want an embedded Kindle viewer?

This is about as close as you're likely to get at the moment http://www.amazon.com... but I don't think there's a UK version.

Other options are to covert your sample MS to HTML or, PDF and use a embeddable PDF viewer like https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js or a Flash equivalent. You could even convert the PDF to images I guess.

I had looked at the web browser beta before, but I don't believe that works in the way I expect.
Previously, I have included samples as static html pages, but my ancient html editor does not allow much in the way of formatting. PDFs are possible (I produce pdf files for printed versions of my books), but they can take much longer to download.
This was just a thought - a redirect to Amazon is no problem and people can then choose whether to 'look inside'. I just need to add the additional code so any redirects open in a new window.
Cheers.
