I feel exactly the same way. But repinning the books you like should help the author. If you like any of my books ("Self-help and spiritual Books" board); I will reciprocate. http://pinterest.com/drdln/

I've followed your 'books worth reading'... because I'm interested! I hope you are interested in some of my boards!

I followed your board For sharing. But it's better to pin individual books you like.

I'm new to Pinterest too, have only started a couple of boards so far. But it looks like hours of fun (and distraction)!

I followed your board on book covers to start the ball rolling.

But repinning the books you like should get you started. If you like any of my books ("Self-help and spiritual Books" board) repin; I will reciprocate. http://pinterest.com/drdln/

This is a totally new thing for me but it does look like it could be a lot of fun. I might give it a go but finding the time when I'm also trying to write full time is really hard - my hubby likes to see me occasionally Wink I'll post again if/when I join and I'll follow everyone here and get things rolling.

RE: Have you joined Pinterest

I've come across some author Pinterest boards but it has set me wondering about copyright.
If you pin photos of things that have inspired your work or period costumes, that sort of thing - how much of a worry is copyright? Do you need to get permission for every photo you repin - or are people really not too worried?
This concern has stopped me getting into pinterest but it looks like such fun...

I have learnt more than following or anything else, just post the interesting pins under various topics. Better related to your book/books if possible. It works great. My sales are more than one-and-half times after I started using pinterest as the main source of promotion.

Here's my link if anyone like to see what I do.

Well done, Dr. You've clearly put time into it and your boards look great.

I have dabbled a little, but I ended up creating boards that interested me rather than things which promoted my books. I'm pretty sure it has had no effect on sales, but it's been fun!
