RE: Bookclub: Vote for the book to read during May 2012

"When the read, read novel goes Bob, Bob, Bobbing along."

I'm suprised that The Moonstone hasn't had more support (yet). It's beautifully written and very funny, despite being reputedly the first ever detective story.
It's also a big chunk of a book - and free.
This forum has so many crime writers and crime enthusiasts (reading about it, rather than practitioners!), plus lovers of freebies, that I thought it would be romping ahead.
