Hi all, excellent forum. Been lusting after a Kindle Fire since their release in the US last year, hopefully released soon in the UK or i'll have to go ahead and by one in New York in July !

Just a observation..

On the gadget show. World tour, They have there prize list at the end. One of the prizes was a Amazon kindle fire ( when released ) ..do they know something we don't

Nah i think if a release was upcoming it would be filtering through somehow...beginning to think it might be the end of the year before a UK release, timed to catch the Xmas sales :-(

There have been a lot of reports lately about Kindle Fire sales slipping, so I agree - either release it worldwide or see it stagnate. There's a lot of talk about Apple releasing a 7" iPad soon and this would be a major blow.

Don't know how relevant this is but I saw the Gadget Show on Monday and for the competition they have the Kindle Fire as one of there prizes (Stating you will get it after UK launch)

Whats so special about kindle fire anyway? If it's using android can't you just buy a normal android tablet (which are already available) and use that?
