screen problems

Taken my Christmas present Kindle on holiday for 1st time and when I arrive the screen is almost completely gone - gets worse each time I try it. It was in a Kindle case and inside my lapdog bag so did not get a knock. It is frustrating as I have all my holiday reading on it.

What I Read

RE: screen problems

Have you tried turning it off completely? ie holding the slide for about 10 seconds until it turns off completely. If that doesn't work, you need to call Amazon Customer Support and they will no doubt send you a new one. I know that's not much help while you're on holiday though.

Sorry - couldn't help but picture it Smile

When you say 'almost gone' do you mean it's very faint or only working sporadically?

I thought I had corrected the amusing typo! No wonder we had problems with our flight if BA thought I was smuggling an animal on board.

By almost gone I mean that only a tiny portion of the screen is working.

Thank you for your response. I have tried that without success and am trying to deal with Customer Support, although complicated by being away.

This was after I sat on it - it had to be replaced. (very speedy turn around)

It is now in a hollowed out hardback book as a case rather than the soft case.

(My cousin in spain said that she found "chat" with customer service much easier then phone call)
