RE: Porridge, breakfast of champions

We preserved a lot of fruit over the last few days, so we'll be having bottled feijoas with our porridge this winter. Yum!

Porridge season is back with us. It's been blinkin' chilly lately and my thoughts and saucepans have returned to porridge, but only on Saturdays at the moment Smile

Yes, the porridge season has arrived with the colder weather. Porridge with blueberries yesterday morning. Smile

Susanne, you'll live forever!

Versatile stuff, porridge. The version that most sticks in my mind was enjoyed in an early morning breakfast in the English Market in Cork: very thick porridge with a generous measure of Irish whiskey poured over it and served with a jug of honey and a jug of double cream.
On a really cold morning I prefer savoury to sweet and I'll have my porridge with Marmite stirred in - you'll love it or hate it.

Better buy some more blueberries then! Big Grin

I love Marmite on toast, but I've never tried it in porridge. Dare I? Huh
