RE: Celtic period novels

Thank you Steiner, I will look at those too.

David, the price fixing by publishers is appalling isn't it? I'm very disappointed by them.

What I Read

RE: Celtic period novels

(02 Nov 2010 09:02 AM)carrieh Wrote:  Hello everyone! My first post here and I am delighted to have found this forum. I have recently bought a Kindle and have rediscovered my love of novels - fanastic!

My favourite kind of novels at the moment are those set in Celtic times, Druid times, Britain under Roman rule, that sort of period. I love Juliet Marrilier and Jules Watson for example, and also the time-travelling novels such as those by Barbara Erskine and Diana Gabaldon.

Has anyone got any suggestions of novels I can read along these lines? I am sure there are lots of unknown self-published authors out there - it is just a question of finding them! I am still finding my way around the various sources for eBooks, so any help would be marvellous. Thank you!

I'm still waiting to get my Kindle (getting one for Christmas, after mentioning I was thinking of buying one to my Sister. A lovely pressie but wishing I'd not mentioned it and just gone ahead and bought it)

I've downloaded the software onto my PC and, to try it out, I "bought" two historical novels - Beric the Briton (set in the Roman occupation of Britain) and Wulf the Saxon (set in the months leading up to the 1066 Norman invasion) Both took me back to my schooldays reading and worth revisiting. Oh, and they're both free downloads,
