What I Read

RE: marketing

Hi Elle, welcome to the forum.

You've asked a difficult question. If you look round you'll see several threads on marketing. Several of us have tried the free promotions where we shift a lot of books for free, which gives us some reviews if we're lucky, and brings us to the attention of the buying public. My feeling is that's like;ly to be rather fleeting and we need other books to maintain the momentum.

Have a look at Stu Ayris's and David Wailing's threads about Tollesbury Time Forever and Bang respectively. They're on free promotion just now.

Hi Elle!

Welcome! Hello

I was in the same boat as you back in January! Here's what I've tried (with varying degrees of success!)

1. Have a blog about your book or writing in general
2. Join Facebook writing groups
3. Join http://www.goodreads.com. They have an amazon kindle forum
4. Set up an Amazon Author page
5. KDP select Free Promotions have been very useful for some
6. Keep being nice to everyone you meet
7. Keep writing!

If you need any further info about any of the above, let me know!

RE: marketing

Hi,

I'm fairly new to all this as well.
Try keeping up with your Twitter posts, don't spam rather chat and get involved that way.
How about a facebook fan page?
Send out requests to reviewers who are open to your genre
keep chatting on as many boards as possible.
How about an interview with your local paper?

anyway all the best!Smile
