Kindle not sorting books properly

This post was last modified: 25 Feb 2012 08:34 PM by ImpOne.
After my second freeze during charging Angry, the Kindle is now not sorting books as it should. Any book I enter and them come out of is placed on page 3 of my collections list instead of at the top of page one. Any book I've been in which isn't in a collection, is no longer being place at the top of the 'out of collection' list of books when I leave it, but at the end of the list - 16 pages back.

Is there any way to fix this and get the Kindle back to putting books I've just been in at the top of the list where it can be easily found, without having to resort to a factory settings reset? If possible I'd really like to avoid having to set up all my collections from scratch and put 1,147 books back into collections! Omg

Thanks!

RE: Kindle not sorting books properly

Your clock needs resetting. Check the manual to see how to do this for your model.

RE: Kindle not sorting books properly

I have this problem too but my clock is set correctly. My manual does not tell me how to reset it, but I went into Home-Menu-Settings-Device Time.

The clock is correct but my lists are all wrong like for the OP. My history on the device has been that it has crashed a few times when making highlights....

I was switching off one day, and whilst holding the off key too long it entered into some kind of reboot mode. Once it was done, my Kindle Keyboard also is displaying these problems.

In addition to making sure the clock is set correctly, connecting to Amazon's servers might do the trick. Turn your wi-fi on and sync and check for new items. If you then disconnect the wi-fi and turn the Kindle off and on again (you can try the process a second time if needed), that might fix it.

Did this work? My Kindle has begun to do this (most recent book is now at the very end of my books) and I would really like to know how to fix it.

RE: Kindle not sorting books properly

I have this problem sometimes but it usually goes away with patience. The exception is my 50 Shades of Grey (yep, reading it - well I got it for the wife really, you understand, and since I paid for it...........). I think my subconscious has a hand in this and is actively trying to stop me finding the book whilst waving the Complete Works of Charles Dickens in my face. Kindle Sad I have steadfastly refused to notice this shameful behaviour (that of my devious subconscious not the general behaviour in the book which has taught me much about certain things but too late in life unfortunately) and I am now at 90%.

Sorted! Well not really but I can live with it.
That is a good book which is opened with expectation and closed with profit.
