That Silk can be tricky
You can tell the sex of an ant by dropping it into a jug of water.
If it sinks: girl ant
If it floats: boy ant

RE: Installing Apps on a UK Kindle Fire

Being very new to the Fire (purchased in US) and this forum, could someone tell me how to connect to my 'Outlook' account?

I have tried the search but could not find anything.

thanks

Not quite sure what you mean by connecting your outlook account. If you mean your email, just open the email app and enter in your ISP's settings for server, username and password.

Everything you need to know should be in the first post in this thread. Finding APK files is a case of searching on Google, or taking a look at GetJar (also linked from the first post). GetJar has its own installation manager, otherwise, you can just download an APK file direct.

What have I missed? I've downloaded es explorer, selected quick download and entered tohe codes for various apps on getjar but the browser page goes blank and nothing downloads. I am confused. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ES but same result.

Help anyone?
Are you using SILK Browser via the Accelerator Option? Sometimes it doesn't like certain sites with downloads. Mine is permanently switched off. Lou knows I had loads of anomolies in the early days, even tried to return FUEGO back to Amazon.... then I saw the light and removed SILK

Help< I've read this thread over and over again and am still getting stuck. I've downloaded ES Explorer and successfully managed to download Angry Birds from Getjar, problem is I don't seem to be able to download anything else. I just get a blank screen when I type in the app number into the quick download screen. I'm wondering if it is the silk issue that has been referred to. How do I turn it off? Also how do I check that I have downloaded the Getjar software or more likely if I have accidently deleted it how do I get it back? Any tips much appreciated.

If you have the getjar app installed, clicking (from the home screen) on Apps should take you to a page with all your Apps on it. If you can't see the GetJar App (has a G for icon) then you haven't got it installed and will need to do so.

Thank you for your reply. I haven't got the app installed and don't seem to be able to do so. I am getting the same problem, a blank screen after have have typed in the app code in the quick download box. I'm thinking I might try and download onto my pc first like others have done. Great site by the way and thanks for your advice.

Are you using an imported US Kindle Fire? These instructions are irrelevant if not.
