Email

Through my PC at home I can access my several email accounts on Yahoo. And when "on safari" through my netbook, or at an internet cafe's PC.

Can I access my email on my £89 Kindle 4
at home ?
on safari ?

Yes?
How?

No
Oh dear

You can using the built in browser on the Kindle, I haven't tried it with the new Kindle but its not too easy to use on the older Kindle Keyboard.

Also the browser doesn't support popups so if you login or emails appear as popup windows you might have problems.

If your mail provider provides it I would try accessing it through the mobile version of their site rather than the standard one as this will make it easier to navigate on the kindle.

To access the browser on a Kindle Keyboard you press
HOME - MENU - EXPERIMENTAL - Launch browser

So have a look for a similar menu option on yours.

RE: Email

If you are showing a padlock and 'forget', it would mean that you are already connected to that Wi-Fi connection. If you hit 'Forget', you will then have the option to re-connect to it and change settings if necessary.

Are you able to browse any websites at all via the built in browser?

Thank you Lou.

If I go Experimenntal - Web Browser- Launch - "Wi -Fi connection needed" Plusnet wireless - padlock - connect
I enter my password (8 characters that I use on my netbook)
Submit - connecting "The password you entered is incorrect or invalid."

I go to "set up net work" . Network information. Shows 8 dots for password. If go down to password & it cancel I get a screen with keyboard & "Enter Wi-Fi password network. I type password. Keyboard disappears. I "submit" -"Connecting" Then, Oh Dear, back to "Unable to Connnect..."

On "Settings" Wi-Fi networks (5) Network not connected

Help, please Smile

p.s. I noticed the other day an automatic "update" 4.1 I think.

p.p.s ! My router is Thomson TG585 v7

RE: Email

Unless you changed it in the routers settings, isn't the password you need for the Thomson TG585 the WPA PSK number that is printed on the sticker on the bottom of your router, which is a 10 digit key, not 8?

Hiya,
If your internet is working on your Kindle now then you can head over to http://bit.ly/RhyB9X which is the mobile Yahoo! login form. From there you can login with your Yahoo! information and access your email.
(I took the liberty of shortening the URL for you as it is a nightmare to type anything on the 5 way control pad.)
Hope this helps...
