iTunes Books to Kindle?

I've been given a couple of iTunes gift cards and was wondering if it is possible to buy books form iTunes, and transfer them to the Kindle?

The iTunes books are likely to be epub's which can be converted in Calibre to mobi format for use on the kindle. The problem is going to be the epub's are likely to be protected by DRM to prevent you doing this.

surely this is impossible..
the main issue is not the format, but the DRM.
the books Itunes sold are APPLE DRM protected, as far as i know, this DRM can't bypass at this moment.

I think it depends on whether the author selected to enable the DRM. I bought a book 3 days ago on iTunes and used Calibre to read it. I have not yet tried to convert it to .PRC but I will try that in a day or two.

RE: iTunes Books to Kindle?

I presume you don't like the iBook reader or you find it being only on apple too restrictive?
