I WANT THAT TURKEY! *drool*

I wouldn't mind an early Christmas dinner. It would be nice to relax on the day!

Those handles would buckle under the weight of that turkey! And so would I . If it is a real turkey it would weigh a ton! Smile

I tried taking everything out the freezer that didn't require a crowbar to rip it out, but still no joy. It's a smallish freezer, in a very small fitted kitchen.

Yeah, I am kinda glad it's done and out the way. We enjoyed it, but it's a lot of hassel cooking Christmas dinner for two. I can have a nice relaxing (read - drunken) Christmas day now.

My Aunt is a chef and got a free turkey from work. 5 of us had it on Christmas day, 3 more on Boxing day including the 5 that had sandwiches Christmas night and 3 that had them on Boxing day and we have HALF a turkey left that won't fit in our freezer.

You can only imagine how bloody big that turkey was before the family got their hands into it....

Aaaaaaarrrrggggggg !!

Well we had a reasonable Christmas meal I suppose ...... the usual fair, which never really does very much for me but everyone else seems to want/like it. We've eaten all the left overs and getting back to normal. The last of the smoked salmon went in my lunch time sandwich today. "Phew, glad that's over" thinks I.

On Friday daughter no.1 is coming over from Bristol for the night to spend time with daughter no.2 (staying with us for a week or so) before she goes back up to Inverness. So we are having a small family meal, just the 4 of us, on Friday evening.

They (the women) get chatting and (I've yet to find out who suggested this) decide that wouldn't it just be a hoot to HAVE CHRISTMAS DINNER ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Furthermore, they've decided unilaterally that I, that's me, daveb, king of all I survey ....... I'M COOKING IT!!!

Omg

I kid you not, Dave B

OMG! Confused

Were the daughters there for Christmas and had their Christmas dinner together?

Don't they like you anymore? Did you misbehave over the "festive period"? Did you say something you shouldn't have? Did you criticise wife's cooking? Did you forget to put the seat down?

You will need a big Wine3 to recover, but make sure it's after and not before. Big Grin

>> Were the daughters there for Christmas and had their Christmas dinner together?

Oh yes, + the partners + the 'olds'

>> Don't they like you anymore?

Obviously not

>>Did you misbehave over the "festive period"?

I always misbehave but didn't think it any worse than normal

>>Did you say something you shouldn't have?

Ditto above

>>Did you criticise wife's cooking?

Well I did say that the meat was a bit dry but I put that down to our (usually very dependable) local butcher probably needing to buy in from sources that he wouldn't normally use to meet the Christmas demand etc etc .... I think I got away with it

>>Did you forget to put the seat down?

It's automatic, generally rests in the down position, I press the orange button, then I have 30 seconds until it snaps shut again.

Before, during & after methinks
