Kindle Touch Cover

This post was last modified: 02 Dec 2011 06:04 PM by EViS.
Can anyone recommend a Kindle Touch cover?

Can the Touch utilise a cover designed for a Kindle 4? Or are the sizes slightly different between the units meaning covers are not inter-compatible?

What I Read

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

I haven't been able to get hold of a cover yet to recommend one, but there are some coming up on pre-order that look quite nice. The Kindle Touch is slightly bigger than the Kindle 4 and with the covers I have reviewed for the Kindle 4, none of them would accommodate the Kindle Touch but there are some cases around that claim to be for both models.

There is a list of covers for the touch that are available for ordering from the UK here : http://www.kuforum.co.uk...

One thing of interest is that Amazon.com will not ship their official Kindle Touch cover to the UK, but will allow you to ship 3rd party Touch covers. Very odd.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

Thanks for the reply Lou, I did look at your list of covers and none of the grabbed my attention.

Shame I cannot get a Kindle 4 cover as this Eco-Nique Natural Hemp Brown Case would be ideal Smile.

Yes, the range isn't huge in the UK although that may change if more people buy them here or Amazon officially release it. Even Kindle 4 covers are bit thin on the ground with manufacturers only recently starting to release them.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

I have just purchased a new Kindle Touch and also a zip case to hold it.

The case is from TeckNet and is called a Kindle 4 zip sleeve case for new Amazon Kindle / 6 inch / 2011 generation / Black. The reference number on the invoice was MT-190-Black and the cost was £6.99. The case has a zip on two sides and my Kindle Touch fits it fine. Personally I prefer a case where I take the Kindle out of the case completely to use so this fits my bill.

The address for TeckNet is http://www.tecknetonline.co.uk although I purchased mine from them through the Amazon Marketplace.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

i bought my cover from well known electrical retail chain and it said on the packaging as compatible with the kindle touch amongst others, the fit seems tighter than i expected but i dont have any other kindles to compare with. other than that it seems ok but doesnt have cutouts for the speakers and everything else works.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

There are some on sale in Tesco - made by M-Edge I think - which claim compatibility with Kindle 4, Kindle Touch and Kobo, though I've no idea if they're any good or how compatible they are! I bought a cheap netbook neoprene zipped case from a local shop for my Kindle Keyboard and it works perfectly well (though I'm now getting a lighted leather case from amazon courtesy of their marketplace cheapies). Worth checking out local shops for non-kindle type cases as you might find something cheap - a 'Kindle' branded neoprene case in the shop was £15 (and seemed a bit poor) but my netbook non-brand case was only £4 and does a good job.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

I've got my Touch on pre-order, nicely timed at a week after my birthday - whilst expensive, I've opted for an official cover - someone I know has a Kindle 4 with an official case of a comparable design and it is lovely. There's no elastic strap like the 3, and is very slim and light:

http://www.amazon.co.uk...

The way it attaches is a big appeal, as it clicks into the edge of the Touch and has none of the common 3rd party case methods of straps etc. over the chassis of the Kindle.

RE: Kindle Touch Cover

After much searching & wasting all my time looking for a good case, I too went for the expensive one but got a light in it, very glad I went for this as the thought of elastic straps holding the Kindle in just didnt appeal to me, I would rather have done without.
So many cheaper ones about but from what I have seen they are just that.
