Much prefer LC today over his late 60s early 70s material (may be a 'age' thing?) ..... back then, you either had a LC album or a Cream album under your arm

Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - over and over for the past 30 minutes purely to tick off my youngest son - she has just been on WWE Monday Night Raw (son gets up early to watch it on a Tuesday) and I got told off for singing along with it on the TV - so had to get revenge Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

I too think Leonard Cohen is wonderful. As far as singer/songwriters go though my favourites have to be Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. James Taylor is up there too!

Kimber's Men

An excellent group of shantymen from Yorkshire. I first came across them at the recent Teignmouth Folk Festival and bought their double album 'In Port'.

For an enthusiast (like me) the recent resurgence of folk music has been great. In the Southwest we now have a succession of folk festivals through the summer; in Brixham alone we have three folk clubs and many of the pubs are increasingly booking live folk musicians. The Beeb has played its part with excellent radio programmes.

At this moment I'm singing along to The Mingulay Boat Song. Think yourselves lucky you can't hear me.
