Thanks joo. And thanks Marian! Way to go me, I just need to work out how and where to pin my badge.

Thank you, David!

(24 Nov 2011 10:49 PM)davidwailing Wrote:  Right, I've been playing with adding these to a Facebook page. I'm no developer, so the only way I can see to do it is to add an application which allows you to create a new tab in the left hand menu, which opens a new page where the KUF box will live. And of course you can add whatever text and so on you want here as well.

For an example, here's how it looks on my Facebook author page: http://www.facebook.com/davidwailing?sk=app_4949752878

If you want to do this, here's a step by step guide. It's not as complex as it looks!

1) Log into Facebook, then go to the Static FBML app page here: http://www.facebook.com...
2) On the left menu, click on 'Add to my page' and select the page you want to add it to.
3) Go to your page and click the 'Edit Page' box on the top right.
4) From the left menu, click on 'Apps'.
5) You should find the Static FBML app in the list. Click on the 'Edit settings' link beneath it.
6) In the box that pops up, click the 'Add' link then OK. This activates the app.
7) You will then get a small box to add the title of the tab, and a big box to paste in the HTML code for whatever KUF icon you wish,
8) Click 'Save changes'. You should now find a tab on your page's left hand menu called whatever you titled it. Clicking that will open a new page with the KUF icon.

One word of warning! You will need to make a tiny tweak in the HTML code that you copy and paste in for each icon. Replace the first line with this:

<a href="http://www.kuforum.co.uk/ebooks/recommended/" target="blank">

That will ensure that when anyone clicks on the icon, it opens up in a new browser window or tab, instead of displaying the KU Forum slap bang in the middle of your Facebook page!

Hi Lou,

Since my book isn't out yet, I've added the "I'm a Kuffer" badge to my website. Thanks for doing this :-)

To get the badge code, go to the badges page here: http://www.kuforum.co.uk/kindle-users-forum-links.html

Please only display the badge if your book is genuinely recommended. I'm trusting you here.

You're welcome, Kristine! Nice little website, by the way - and you've reminded me I need to add the badge to my own site!

Did anyone else manage to successfully get the badges on their Facebook pages? I'm a bit worried I gave duff instructions... or maybe there's an easier way of doing it?

I tried and it all worked till #7, when the boxes didn't appear and I gave up and went to bed... I was tired, so it may have been me.

Lexi, let me know if you still can't get it to work and maybe I can help?
