And an adult version of time travelling is free

Just One Damned Thing after Another by Jodi Taylor

“History is just one damned thing after another” - Arnold Toynbee

A madcap new slant on history that seems to be everyone's cup of tea...

Behind the seemingly innocuous façade of St Mary's, a different kind of historical research is taking place. They don't do 'time-travel' - they 'investigate major historical events in contemporary time'. Maintaining the appearance of harmless eccentrics is not always within their power - especially given their propensity for causing loud explosions when things get too quiet.

Meet the disaster-magnets of St Mary's Institute of Historical Research as they ricochet around History. Their aim is to observe and document - to try and find the answers to many of History's unanswered questions...and not to die in the process.

But one wrong move and History will fight back - to the death. And, as they soon discover - it's not just History they're fighting.

Follow the catastrophe curve from eleventh-century London to World War I, and from the Cretaceous Period to the destruction of the Great Library at Alexandria. For wherever Historians go, chaos is sure to follow in their wake ...

A book I didn't think would be free is now free. And I loved it
Satan's Shorts by Heide Goody
If you liked Clovenhoof, this is more of Jeremy's antics. If you haven't read Clovenhoof, then get this freebie and read it after you have read Clovenhoof.

I read this recently and it's silly

Wizard's Brew by Chris Naylor

An inexperienced wizard summons a strange hollow rock from the sea. Out of the rock comes something large, nasty and very hungry, and soon it’s heading for Camelot. And there may be more of them…

Normally Merlin would step in at this point and save Camelot: but Merlin has mysteriously disappeared, leaving the fate of Camelot in the rather less powerful hands of Gwydden the Abstruse, a wizard whose main talent is making dragons that explode unexpectedly, and Gwydden's sidekick Hergrim, a dwarf with a large axe, a large red beard, and a short temper.

Will Gwydden and Hergrim be able to save Camelot and its inhabitants, or will it (and they) be devoured by an ancient race of evil shape-shifters?

(Warning: this book contains rabbits.)
