RE: Essential Apps for Kindle Fire

Hi there.
I've just received my shiny new Fire and reading and buying books and browsing are really good - while I do like my Kindle keyboard, I welcome the colour - but I can't download any of the apps. My Amazon account is at .co.uk and clearly the app store wants a .com registration.
Is there a way round this? I've set up a .com account, but now I need to fund it in some way - but gift certificates bought on .co.uk do not seem to be valid at .com.
Can I actually use both registrations?
thanks

You should be able to buy .com gift certs from Amazon.com with your UK credit card if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks.. I could probably buy a gift card but I tried to simply add a (UK) credit card to an Amazon.com account and re-registered my Fire with the .com details - but the app download failed saying the app store was not available in my region. I'll hold on till someone finds a clever way to do it - and just enjoy the books and built in apps in the meantime

RE: Essential Apps for Kindle Fire

I am still in USA so fire is registered to .com and I have a valid us address however it still wouldn't let me download apps. For $3.44 you can buy a visa gift card from walmart or vanilla visa from cvs. I got the walmart one, you have to register online with a valid us address and zip code and then register it to your amazon.com account. In the name field you just put your name and then you have a valid Usa card and the app store works on any android device you have including the fire. Now I just need to find out how I disguise my ip address for when I return to the uk.

What I Read

RE: Essential Apps for Kindle Fire

I'm happy to recommend an app I downloaded for Android and IOS and which I use and found to be excellent. The app allows correct charging and prolongs battery life and in addition it boosts memory and also your able to save power usage by getting rid of apps working in the background that are draining power even though your not using them.
The app is called 'Battery Doctor', its FREE and I'd urge everyone to at least check it out, as far as I'm concerned this is an essential app, in addition it does more than I've just highlighted. I've noticed a big difference in just a short time not just to our tablets but also to our mobiles.Thumbs Up
