Hello Kathryn and welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here. Smile

The only things I can think of is maybe the pressure that your Mum is using to turn pages is the reason she is finding it difficult to use, or the place she is tapping the screen. Have you actually sat and watched her to see that she is tapping in the right place?

Although not related, have you also made sure that you have the latest update for the Kindle Touch on your device? Have a look on the Kindle support pages to see if you have.

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

Hi,

I am a big fan of the option to rate a book once you have read it, however I can't seem to find any kind of option that would allow me to look back on previously rated books.

I have found with the kindle that I easily forget titles and authors of books, so being able to see these ratings would really help me with recommending books to friends and when looking for new material to read.

Is there any way, other than connecting all this information to a social networking site, that I would be able to look back on what I have rated?

Thanks for your help

Hello Chazwick and welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here. Smile

As far as I am aware there isn't any way of doing what you want. The way I overcome the problem is to keep a notebook and write a quick review and star rating of books I read. Very low tech I know, but it works for me! Smile

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

Hi Chazwick, I think I've found out how to do this. Give this a try:

1) Log into Amazon and go to Your Account (upper right menu of the site).

2) Scroll down the page to the Personalisation section and click on Impove Your Recommendations. This lists everything you've purchased from Amazon.

3) On the left menu, click on Items you've rated. This should give you a list of everything you've rated and reviewed, including Kindle ebooks.

If there's a simpler way to get to this, I can't find it! Hope this is helpful.

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

Hi David,

Thank you so much, it's exactly what I was looking for!

Sujay - I am the same as you, though I am now a member of Good Reads so I have an app on the phone too that I update.

Thank you both for our help!

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

Hello, I am new to the forum but not new to Kindle; I have had one for three years.
I have been able to create a new collection in the past, but I created one today and it doesn't show up when I connect to my PC and look for the collection in order to paste files into it.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

You create collections and sort books into them on the Kindle itself, you can't do it via a computer.

You can't copy & paste files into collections you have created because they are in fact just tags that are attributed to the books and not actual folders - and that's why you can't actually "see" them when you browse your Kindle via your PC.

RE: Kindle General FAQ 2012

I left a National Lottery scratch card on my Kindle reading pane and now it's scrambled and stopped working. Co-incidence or not? Any suggestions?
