RE: What Have You Cooked Today?

Tonight I'll drag any old thing out of the freezer as too tired and too hot to think about cooking (air con in office broken down again!), but I did make a delicious wrap for my lunch - feta cheese, red pepper, spring onion, sundried tomato, olives mixed with a little low fat fromage frais - made a nice change from my cheese and salad sandwich! Lovely!

PS OH cooked tonight, so the less said the better! He is not a natural born cook and tonight bore that out. (look in my recycling bin for the remains of the so-called stir-fry Sad) I'm off to eat a bag of fresh peas - not cooked, just straight out of their pods, love it).

RE: What Have You Cooked Today?

I had quite a bit of minced lamb in the freezer to use up (all that was left of half a lamb that we'd bought from a friend's small-holding) so I made one of my favourite Delia Smith recipes for shepherds pie - http://www.deliaonline.com... - as I had almost twice as much lamb as needed I made two pies so that I can put one of them in the freezer for later. It's a very tasty recipe!

I've just got the new River Cottage Veggie cookery book (in hardback), it was an anniversary present from OH! There are some fantastic recipes there and I shall definitely be making something from it this weekend, the first being a Mexican bean and chilli soup.
