how to keep 2 kindles apart !!

This post was last modified: 09 Aug 2011 09:52 AM by tonygold.
hi
my partner has a kindle and i have just purchased one for myself. they both have different kindle e mail addresses but because she doesn't have a credit card, the payment for downloads comes off my card. my question is, how do i stop her purchases appearing on my kindle and vice versa. i have looked thru amazons FAQ's but cannot find this solution. if need be i could register her joint account debit card with amazon but would rather not.
many thanks for any info.

Hi Tony and welcome to the Forum.

I am also in a two Kindle family with a joint Amazon account. My downloads will appear only in my OH's Archive on the Kindle and vice versa. If by chance you like the same book, you can then retrieve it from the archive and read it as well - even at the same time.

Just make sure that when you do the download, you select your own name as it appears on the Amazon One-Click drop down box.

Hello Tony and welcome to the forum. As Susanne says, make sure you select your own name from the download box when you are downloading to the Kindle and you should be fine. I like your partners style in using your credit card though, that is very well thought out! Smile

Just incase you haven't found it yet

you can select which kindle to send to at purchase or when sending a sample.

You can also do it with books already in your account, by going to Your Account - Manage Your Kindle on amazon's site. From there you can resend to any of your devices or as mentioned do it from the kindle via the Archive section.

If you don't keep your two Kindles apart you might very quickly end up with a house full of them! Big Grin
