What I Read

RE: Bookclub: Suggestions for book to read during September

I'd only meant one thread with one post - a link to all the discussions.
I sent it to you Susanne, last night, as I can't start a thread in this area of the board.
Or even if someone who can start a thread just posts "here are links to all the discussion threads" I can reply with all the links.
The discussions have been going for nearly a year now and I haven't read half of them.
Please put a bowl of water out for hedgehogs and other night-time visitors, you might just save their life.
While you are at it, feed the birds too. Thumbs Up And come and talk about it at Garden Wildlife Forum

Could I possibly push the financial boat out and suggest The Return of Captain John Emmett by Elizabeth Speller

Its a whopping £4.49, but still represents good value ?

No probs if not

Matt

Matt, you certainly can. I will add it to the list. I just had a quick look at it and it looks very interesting Smile

Edit: Having gone back and read the reviews, this book looks well worth the read and whether we read it here or not, I shall add it to my Wishlist.

Yup, and thanks Matt. In fact so interesting that the choice is going to be a tricky! Undecided

One odd thing is that the p/b is 50p cheaper on Amazon. If I bought the p/b would I be able to discuss it here??!!! Angel

RE: Bookclub: Suggestions for book to read during September

Is it too late for me to offer two suggestions? Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but how about The Last Train From Liguira by Christine Dwyer Hickey. It's about an escape from Italy during the war. It was a great read and only 99p at the minute. My other suggestion is The Secret Mandarin by Sara Sheridan which is also 99p. This one is about the journeys of a woman in China after she is made to leave London following her scandalous behaviour and accompany her brother in law to help him steal tea growing secrets and spy for the British Army. Both good reads and worth the massive expensive of 99p! Smile
Only happy when I am immersed in a good Kindle book Thumbs Up

With these 2 suggestions, I think we are just about there now with the 10 choices we try to aim for every month (including the 4 that came in second from last month), so anybody else may want to hold off with suggestions until next month now.

Edit: I am going to close the suggestion thread now as we have reached 10 suggestions. The poll will go up in the next day or two - might as well do it now, rather than wait, as we have all the suggestions.
