RE: Kindle FAQ October 2010

I have just bought my Kindle 3 and have been loading in my eBooks from various PC's, smartphones etc. I have created collections for various authors but wondered if it was possible to create sub categories for series by authors.

thanks from a newbie

You can add a book to multiple collections, so you can create extra collections for your sub categories but you can't nest them inside each other unfortunately

This seems to depend on aircrew on your particular flight - some are paranoid about any electronic devices being on (RyanAir especially)

I would say that so long as you had your Wi-Fi and/or 3G wireless connections turned off, there would be no problem, but as Derek says, you basically have to do what the flight attendants tell you.

Strangely enough, electronic equipment in 1st Class is never so much of a problem as it is in "our" bit of the plane. Odd that!

Also, even mobile phones (which as everyone knows can bring down a plane in seconds Rolleyes ) will suddenly stop being dangerous once they have found a way to charge us for using them during flights.

Cynical? Moi? Cool

TBH I just make sure the wi-fi is of and close the cover. The whole thing is a farce and there are rumours that the FAA are going to be changing the laws about this some time soon. Details here : http://www.appleinsider.com...

Ryanair are charging £10 to use a Kindle during flight and an extra £5 for take off and landing.

RE: Kindle Keyboard (Kindle 3) FAQ

Hi, i've been using facebook on my Kindle (1st version) for ages, never had any problems. But recently, when i go to go onto facebook, it redirects me onto the mobile/android version of facebook. I wouldn't have a problem with this, but when i try to reply to a message etc, it wont let me enter text. I have tried to get my kindle back onto the normal facebook, but it wont let me. Any solutions?

Hi Chloe,

You could try this :

1) Login to facebook via mobile site as normal
2) Enter this url exactly : http://www.facebook.com/home.php

This should, in theory, then take you to the desktop version. Note that you must login first on the mobile version.

Please let us know if it works or not,
