A rather handsome pheasant wandered past the pond last night.

The native pigeons have discovered the plum trees. We may miss out on plums this year. Smile They're quite big, maybe three times the size of urban pigeons, and they make the branches sway big time! Beautiful birds, with a slowly recovering population.

Spring means ducklings! Our pond is a popular place for assignations, and we sometimes get to see the results:

This is a regular visitor to our garden. A bearded dragon. Not everyone can say they're visited by dragons!

All I tend to get are next doors cats sitting on the wall taunting my dog through the window! I shudder to think what would happen if a dragon turned up! Smile

I have 2 less hedgehogs in my garden.

Both yesterday and again today I captured sub 300g hoglets. So I've taken them to a carer to look after them over winter.
You can see from this fab section of Autumnwatch Unsprung (probably only in UK, sorry) that if they were left in the wild they would most probably die. http://www.bbc.co.uk... From 16:45

In the pics attached, the first 2 are Saturday's hog, the second two, Sunday's.

They are very lucky hedgehogs to have you looking after them joo. And they look so cute as well. Smile I hope that little bit on Autumnwatch Unsprung has bought the troubles hedgehogs face to peoples notice.

I couldn't see the frogs at first Shayne, but then I spotted them! That looks a lovely pond in your garden. Smile

They're well camouflaged. Smile There are at least five in that picture.

Yes, the pond is lovely. At this time of year the water lilies are out, irises are flowering on the banks, and the frogs are singing day and night. Smile
