Bookclub: Suggestions for the August book

Please list your suggestions for the book to read during August 2011.

The books that came second and third in last month's poll will automatically go into the poll for August's books, so you don't need to put them forward again. There were three books with the same number of votes in second position this month. They were The Cornerstone, The Warsaw Anagrams and Flatlands - A Romance of Many Dimensions.

Suggestions will be taken until July 21st. On the 22nd, a second thread will be posted with a poll for voting on your book choice. The winning title will become our Book for August. You will have one month to read the chosen book.

On August 1st 2011, the book's thread will be opened and discussion will commence.

Please keep cost in mind when suggesting books. Try to keep suggestions under £5.

Please note the bookclub, including suggestions and voting, is open to active KUF members only.

Hi
I would like to suggest for the August book
'Torn by God-A family's struggle With Polygamy',
by Zoe Murdock.
It is currently £3.43 on Amazon
I was given this book to review for KUF and I found it very readable. It goes from a happy book to a very sad book with all emotions in between. Even the ending when all troubles seem to be over for the family, you are left wondering. It is a very well written book.

You already have my suggestion for Flatland in from last month, so I won't suggest another this time round.

RE: Bookclub: Suggestions for the August book

I just checked out Flatland and it looks interesting. There's a Deluxe Illustrated E-Reader Edition on Amazon for 74p at the moment, so I might just get it anyway.

I'm going to nominate Killing Cupid by Mark Edwards and Louise Voss, as apparently they wrote it without meeting each other. Louise would do the girlie bits and Mark would do the boy bits where he blows everything up and kills everyone Big Grin.

The description says "A gripping stalker thriller with a unique twist for fans of Nicci French, Ruth Rendell and James Patterson." and it's 49p at the moment.
Please put a bowl of water out for hedgehogs and other night-time visitors, you might just save their life.
While you are at it, feed the birds too. Thumbs Up And come and talk about it at Garden Wildlife Forum
