Kindle Keyboard 3G experimental internet access abroad ?.

This post was last modified: 18 Jan 2021 12:14 PM by jackyjoy123.

I'm in the process of trying to decide on whether or not to get a Kindle, and on what kind of Kindle and in which country. As I'm travelling quite a lot, sometimes to places where they don't have wifi it would be very handy to get access to my emails through the Kindle if needed in emergencies.

1. If I buy a UK Kindle, and register it to a UK address, can I use the 3G experimental browsing anywhere? From reading this forum, and the shopping guide here, it says that you have access to the internet in some 100 countries. However, when I check theĀ it says that free internet browsing outside of wiki and kindle store is only available in some 60 countriesĀ Also, have any of you spent a longer amount of time outside the UK but kept the UK country registration on it?

2. This might not really belong here since it's a UK forum, but I thought I might as well ask. If I register the Kindle to my US address, will I have access to the US store and have free internet experimental browsing in all the countries where Amazon provides 3G services?

I'm living a couple of months per year in Asia, some in Europe and some in US. Are there any issues with them checking IP address, or credit card billing addresses etc that might complicate things?
