At my wits end on WiFi connection problem

This post was last modified: 24 Nov 2018 03:02 PM by Robinmalhotra.
Recently moved and set up a new WiFi router with Xfinity (Comcast). Kindle paperwhite connected just fine for about a week to this WiFi network.

All the sudden, it no longer sees my WiFi network, but it still sees all the other networks around us (neighbors, etc). Of course I cannot connect to any of these as they are all password protected.

I have tried restarting kindle, resetting kindle to factory settings, restarting WiFi router. Nothing. It sees plenty of other networks, just not mine. I have no problem connecting to my WiFi network from a myriad of other devices include phones, tablets, video game consoles etc so the problem does not seem to be with the network itself.

I have spent at least 3 hours trying to figure this out. Last week I was able to connect kindle to my girlfriends hotspot (from her phone) to download some books. Now when I try to connect to my own phone’s hotspot, it tells me “WiFi login required” and asks if I want to go to the experimental web browser to sign in. I say OK, and the page never loads and then finally says there was a problem loading this page.

This is driving me nuts. Anyone have ideas?

take your kindle somewhere else to use a wifi connection or try it on your girl friends phone again,on that way you know if the kindle is at fault, if not , ,
the most common reason for suddenly losing wifi signal, is one of your neighbours is using the same channel and swamping the signal, ie  your kindle can't find yours in all the noise from the other one,,
items that can, quite possibly have better wifi capabilities than the kindle,,
to rule this out, put the old router back, or change the channel your new router is operating on, ,  which the instruction booklet should cover

outages ???

do you mean the internet was down?

that should not effect your wifi, just the ability to connect to things
