Thank you for this information. It has been very helpful as a friend has the opportunity to get a sony e reader for free using points he has been awarded for 25 years service where he works. I was asked how easy it was to get books for etc but did not know where you got them or if you could use Amazon. I can now go back and tell him to buy a Kindle and use the points for something better!

- but I do wonder if some of those who buy the Sony ereader are surprised/ disappointed to find that they can't access the vast Amazon Kindle bookshop, especially when advice in shops can be misleading.
