Mystery archived item

This has appeared in my Archived Items - Duden Deutsches Universalwörterbuch - it seems to be a dictionary. I have no idea how it got there, no Kindle version is available on Amazon UK, only a hardback at £34 odd. Undecided

Any thoughts on how it might have got there?

RE: Mystery archived item

I can't solve your mystery - but I can add to it Big Grin - because a copy of The New Oxford American Dictionary has just arrived (uninvited) in my Kindle's "Archived Items" section. I think Amazon must be updating dictionaries, because I had a copy of this (free) when I first bought my Kindle (from the US before they were available here, hence the American version). Coincidentally the German Kindle store has arrived in the last few days, so perhaps they are sending free dictionaries to all new German Kindle owners - although that doesn't quite explain your new arrival if your Kindle is UK registered.

RE: Mystery archived item

I'd forgotten about the German store opening.

My Kindle came with British and American dictionaries - I had to make the Brit one the default instead of the American one - I'll have to see if I get updated versions of those.

My interest in the German language if largely limited to the sacred works of J S Bach, and both recordings and concert programs usually come with text and translation.

I've deleted the German dictionary from my archive.
