Not suitable for the kindle

It has to be said that large colourful books are just not suitable for the kindle..so why do publishers insist on it. I have just ordered Collins Complete Photography Course and it is available for kindle download. If you look at the review Mr ND Barber agrees with me entirely...so why do it? some books are not suitable for the kindle and that's a fact!!

Beats me ........ any book which relies heavily on large photographs or other artwork will never be god on the current design of Kindle. That's why my Kindle won't replace books but exist along side them.

Should have made it clear that I ordered the full colour book version which should be with me soon...by the way Dave tried to access your photo gallery but none of your pictures were displayed?

As a keen, but relatively new to DSLR photography (using a Nikon D90) this book looks excellent - very good reviews and the only 1 star was about the Kindle version being "....quite simply, awful" and then a list of the problems

So, I purchased the hard cover version - and it is £1 cheaper too!!

Thanks for the heads up Runner

@ runner …… Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, the home page slide show was OK but the gallery displays were not showing. It was all OK a couple of days ago Sad.

Anyhoo, I’ve been trying to work out what to do with my web site. I used to build & maintain it manually however found that I was spending more time on that than on Photography itself and my spare time is/was extremely limited in any case. So I dumped it into SmugMug as a holding stage until I’d decided what to do. The 6-months renewal was due at the end of April so it was timely to make the decision to cancel (which I've now done). I may just use Flickr for a while until I get it all sorted out.

There is never enough spare time to do all this stuff, roll on early retirement Smile

@NJM ……. Good luck with the camera & your photography. If I can be of any help with your new DSLR then ping me a PM Smile

Thanks for that Dave - I will bear that kind offer in mind!! Just trying to get to grips with things like depth of field and aperture / shutter speed settings rather than use the auto function!!
