BBC news app

The BBC news app suddenly stopped working on my Fire HD a few days ago, saying the service is unavailable.  When I go to the Kindle app store on my tablet, the app isn't listed.  When I go to the app store on my PC, the app is there, but tells me I can't have it because of regional restrictions.  But the country setting for the device shows as UK.
Any ideas?

The message from the app store on my PC has now changed to saying the app is incompatible with my device!  So what has changed?

Some bbc content is gio, restricted, but not the news site, it sound like Amazon have with drawn support for the app, ???, Or the BBC have refused to let Amazon distribute it.

I'm always perplexed by news apps in General, they don't seem worth the trouble,  just type bbc news in to Google and get the BBC web site that way, It's 1.6 seconds more time consuming,

Some bbc content is gio, restricted, gio, restricted but not the news site but may be the app! Possibly your ip, or more likely your browser, is routing you through another country, and your showing up as foreign,

RE: BBC news app

I have had exactly the same problem within the past week. Cannot find on Appstore and on main Amazon shop site says app is currently unavailable and they don't know when it will be. Frustrating - if it continues will ditch my Fire for another tablet.

Can't you just down load it from the BBC web site?

RE: BBC news app

Response from Amazon
From your email, I understand that you are unable access the BBC app as it is giving you the error message service unavailable try later.

I have researched the issue you have been having and I have found that the developer last provided an update on 28 Mar. 2017 for the Fire HD 7 which you have and that there are no updates available for this device at this time. Even though the app is no longer available on the Fire. I have a work around to get your news on your tablet, it is really simple all you do is open up the BBC news through the silk browser and bookmark the page this will allow you to retrieve the desired page when you need to view the latest news updates.

or download the app called "All News" by LondonNut Ltd - All News Sources -This app allows you to Read your favorite popular news / newspapers from all over the world, It includes but is not limited to BBC news.

https://www.amazon.co.uk...

I have passed the information on to our technical specialists. I have also included the contact details for BBC news themselves should you want to reach out to them as well:

So it's the BBC fault for not updating the app,any complaints should be sent to them. Their advice to just Google BBC news is very appropriate, the non availability of the app is of no consequenc at all, unless you can't spell BBC news

This seems to be a good working ap k for the BBC app, turn on allow apps from unknown sources and it should keep you going till the BBC and Amazon sort it out

RE: BBC news app

The whole handling of this matter by all parties does show a significant disregard for the customers of the Kindle Fire. When you go to the app, you can see beyond the frosted screen the updated news on the site and you have the big window saying the site is currently unavailable, try later. That suggests its a minor glitch which will be fixed in an hour or maybe a day. So you hang on. It's quite the opposite of that. Truth is the service is taken away and may never come back. Why are these parties honest with us?
